If the TDR test has not been run, an error message is generated:

The following describes the TDR test status.
Status Definition
OK Status:
Terminated
TDR test is complete, no fault is detected on the cable, and the test is terminated.
Length: 92 (+/-
1) meters,
Status: Shorted
A short is detected on the cable. The location, in this Example is 92 meters. The
short is accurate to plus or minus one meter.
Length: 93 (+/-
1) meters,
Status: Open
An opening is detected on the cable. The location, in this Example is 93 meters. The
open is accurate to plus or minus one meter.

Impedance
Mismatch
There is an impedance mismatch in the cables.
