Service Manual

Usage
Information
The patch filename includes the Dell Networking OS version, the platform, the CPU, and the process it
affects (FTOS-platform-cpu-process-patchversion.rtp). For example, a patch labeled
7.8.1.0-EH-rp2-l2mgr-1.rtp identifies that this patch applies to Dell Networking OS version 7.8.1.0 E-
Series platform, for RP2, addressing the layer 2 management process, and this patch is the first version
of this patch.
There is no need to reload or reboot the system when you insert the patch. The In-Service Modular patch
replaces the existing process code. After installation is complete, the system executes the patch code as
though it was always there.
