Implementation Information
The S-Series has a single MAC address for all physical/LAG interfaces and hence only one MEP is allowed per MA (per VLAN or
per MD level).
Configuring the CFM
To configure the CFM, follow these steps:
1. Configure the ecfmacl CAM region using the cam-acl command.
2. Enable Ethernet CFM.
3. Create a Maintenance Domain.
4. Create a Maintenance Association.
5. Create Maintenance Points.
6. Use CFM tools:
a Continuity Check Messages.
b Loopback Message and Response.
c Linktrace Message and Response.

Enable Ethernet CFM
To enable the Ethernet CFM, use the following commands:
1 Spawn the CFM process. No CFM configuration is allowed until the CFM process is spawned.

2 Disable Ethernet CFM without stopping the CFM process.

Creating a Maintenance Domain
Connectivity fault management (CFM) divides a network into hierarchical maintenance domains, as shown in Maintenance
Domains.
1 Create maintenance domain.
ETHERNET CFM mode
domain name md-level number
The range is from 0 to 7.
2 Display maintenance domain information.
EXEC Privilege mode
show ethernet cfm domain [name | brief]
