Storm Control
Storm control is supported on Dell Networking OS.
The storm control feature allows you to control unknown-unicast and broadcast trac on Layer 2 and Layer 3 physical interfaces.
Dell Networking Operating System (OS) Behavior: Dell Networking OS supports broadcast control (the storm-control
broadcast command) for Layer 2 and Layer 3 trac.
Dell Networking OS Behavior: The minimum number of packets per second (PPS) that storm control can limit on the device is two.
Congure Storm Control
Storm control is supported in INTERFACE mode and CONFIGURATION mode.
Conguring Storm Control from INTERFACE Mode
To congure storm control, use the following command.
From INTERFACE mode:
You can only on congure storm control for ingress trac.
If you congure storm control from both INTERFACE and CONFIGURATION mode, the INTERFACE mode congurations
override the CONFIGURATION mode congurations.
The percentage of storm control is calculated based on the advertised rate of the line card, not by the speed setting.

Conguring Storm Control from CONFIGURATION Mode
To congure storm control from CONFIGURATION mode, use the following command.
From CONFIGURATION mode you can congure storm control for ingress and egress trac.
Do not apply per-viritual local area network (VLAN) quality of service (QoS) on an interface that has storm-control enabled (either
on an interface or globally).
