Storm Control
Storm control is supported on Dell Networking OS.
The storm control feature allows you to control unknown-unicast and broadcast trac on Layer 2 and Layer 3 physical interfaces.
Dell Networking Operating System (OS) Behavior: Dell Networking OS supports broadcast control (the storm-control
broadcast command) for Layer 2 and Layer 3 trac.
Dell Networking OS Behavior: The minimum number of packets per second (PPS) that storm control can limit on the device is two.
Congure Storm Control
Storm control is supported in INTERFACE mode and CONFIGURATION mode.
Conguring Storm Control from INTERFACE Mode
To congure storm control, use the following command.
From INTERFACE mode:
• You can only on congure storm control for ingress trac.
• If you congure storm control from both INTERFACE and CONFIGURATION mode, the INTERFACE mode congurations
override the CONFIGURATION mode congurations.
• The percentage of storm control is calculated based on the advertised rate of the line card, not by the speed setting.

Conguring Storm Control from CONFIGURATION Mode
To congure storm control from CONFIGURATION mode, use the following command.
From CONFIGURATION mode you can congure storm control for ingress and egress trac.
Do not apply per-viritual local area network (VLAN) quality of service (QoS) on an interface that has storm-control enabled (either
on an interface or globally).
