To remove an RP address, use the no ip pim [vrf vrf-name] rp-address address {group-
address group-address mask} [override] command.
Parameters
vrf vrf-name (OPTIONAL) Enter the keyword vrf followed by the name of the VRF.
NOTE: Applies to specic VRF if input is provided, else applies to Default
VRF.
address Enter the RP address in dotted decimal format (A.B.C.D).
group-address
group-address
mask
Enter the keywords group-address then a group-address mask, in dotted
decimal format (/xx), to assign that group address to the RP.
override Enter the keyword override to override the BSR updates with static RP. The
override takes eect immediately during enable/disable.
NOTE: This option is applicable to multicast group range.

Usage Information First-hop routers use this address by to send register packets on behalf of source multicast hosts. The RP
addresses are stored in the order in which they are entered. The RP is chosen based on a longer prex
match for a group. The RP selection does not depend on dynamic or static RP assignments.
ip pim rp-candidate
To send out a Candidate-RP-Advertisement message to the bootstrap (BS) router or dene group prexes that are dened with the
RP address to PIM BSR, congure a PIM router.
