In other platforms, routing can happen only between virtual networks and the egress virtual network can be connected to a vlan in an
external router which connects to the external network.
Example Description
In the below example, VLT domain 1 is a VLT VTEP and VLT domain 2 is the Border Leaf VLT VTEP pair. The virtual networks present in the
DC are congured in all the VTEPs with its own IP addresses and anycast IP addresses.
A separate virtual network is congured in all VTEPs which has the Anycast IP address congured only in the Border Leaf VTEP. In case of
Asymmetric IRB, a static route is congured in all VTEPs except the Border leaf VTEP such that any trac destined to external world is
pointed to the anycast ip address of the special virtual network present in the border leaf VTEP. Similarly, another Static route is congured
in the Border Leaf VTEP where any trac to external world is pointed to the egress VLAN towards the WAN router or the internet.
When VLT domain 1 receive any trac towards external world, the trac is routed to the separate virtual network in the ingress VTEP and
sent to the Border Leaf VTEP. In the Border Leaf VTEP, the trac is then routed to the VLAN to which an external WAN router is
connected or directly connected to the Internet. Similarly any trac that is destined to the internal virtual network environment is received
at the Border Leaf VTEP and routed accordingly to the virtual network present in the destination network.
Similarly, any trac that is destined to the internal virtual network environment is received at the Border Leaf VTEP and routed to the
virtual network in the destination network.
