banner motd
Set a message of the day (MOTD) banner.
Syntax
banner motd c line c
To delete a Message of the Day banner, enter no banner motd.
Parameters
c Enter a delineator character to specify the limits of the text banner. The delineator
is a percent character (%).
line Enter a text string for your MOTD banner the message with your delineator. The
delineator is a percent character (%).
Defaults No banner is congured.

Usage Information After entering the banner login command, type one or more spaces and a delineator character. Enter the
banner text then the second delineator character. When the user is connected to the router, if a message of
the day banner is congured, it displays rst. If no message of the day banner is congured, the login banner
and prompt appear. After the user has logged in, the banner EXEC (if congured) displays.
Related Commands
banner exec — enables the display of a text string when you enter EXEC mode.
banner login — sets a banner to display after successful login to the system.
