Command History

The following is a list of the Dell Networking OS version history for this command.
Version Description
9.8(0.0) Introduced on the S3048-ON and S4048-ON.
9.7(0.0) Introduced on the S6000-ON.
9.6(0.0) Introduced on the S4810, S4820T, S5000, S6000, Z9000, and Z9500.
ntp server
Congure an NTP time-serving host.
Syntax
ntp server[vrf vrf-name] {hostname | ipv4-address | ipv6-address} [key
keyid] [prefer] [version number]
Parameters
vrf vrf-name (Optional) Enter the keyword vrf and then the name of the VRF to congure a
NTP time-serving host corresponding to that VRF.
ipv4-address | ipv6-
address
Enter an IPv4 address (A.B.C.D) or IPv6 address (X:X:X:X::X) of NTP server.
hostname Enter the hostname of the server.
key keyid (OPTIONAL) Enter the keyword key and a number as the NTP peer key. The
range is from 1 to 4294967295.
prefer (OPTIONAL) Enter the keyword prefer to indicate that this peer has priority over
other servers.
version number (OPTIONAL) Enter the keyword version and a number to correspond to the
NTP version used on the server. The range is from 1 to 4.
