Starting the CLI
The switch can be managed over a connection to the switch console port
through the CMC, or via a Telnet connection. The switch is managed by
entering command keywords and parameters at the prompt. Using the switch
CLI commands is similar to entering commands on a UNIX system.
If access is via a Telnet connection, ensure the device has an IP address
defined, corresponding management access is granted, and the workstation
used to access the device is connected to the device prior to using CLI
commands.
Accessing the CLI from the Console Line

Start the device and wait until the startup procedure is complete. The
User Exec
mode is entered, and the prompt
console>
is displayed.

Configure the device and enter the necessary commands to complete the
required tasks.

When finished, exit the session with the
quit
or
exit
command.
Accessing the CLI from Telnet

Enter
telnet
and the IP address of the device. A User Name prompt is
displayed.

Enter the User Name and Password. You are in the
Privileged Exec
mode.

Acquire the IP address of the OOB port by:
