The following is an example of the CLI commands:
Diagnostics
This section describes how to perform hardware tests on the device. It
contains the following topics:
• Integrated Cable Test
• Optical Transceiver Diagnostics
Integrated Cable Test
NOTE: This feature is supported on the R1-2401 (all ports) and on the R1-2210 on
external ports gi0/1-2.
Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) technology is used to test the quality
and characteristics of a copper cable attached to a port. Cables up to 120
meters long can be tested. Cables can only be tested when the ports are in the
down state, with the exception of Approximated Cable Length test.
The Approximated Cable Length test can only be performed when the port is
up and operating at 1 Gbps.
To perform a cable test and view the results:

Ensure that both ends of the copper cable are connected, one end to tested
port and one end to device. Go to the
Test
tab.

Test
. The copper cable and Approximate Cable Length tests are
performed, and the following test results are displayed:

External Port
— Select the port to be reported.

Test Result
— Displays the cable test results. The possible options are:
•
No Cable
— There is no cable connected to the port.
•
Open Cable
— The cable is connected on only one side.
•
Short Cable
— A short has occurred in the cable.
•
OK
— The cable passed the test.
•
Unknown Test Result
— Test results are not known.
