Cabling the drives for the S150
CAUTION: Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You should only perform
troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as directed by the online or
telephone service and support team. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by

This section provides details about cabling for the integrated PERC S150 controller.
NOTE: For information about cabling SATA and NVMe PCIe SSDs for S150, see your system owner's manual at
www.dell.com/poweredgemanuals.
1. Turn off the system, including any attached peripherals, and disconnect the system from the electrical outlet and
peripherals.
NOTE: It is recommended that you always use a static mat and static strap while working on components in the interior
of the system.
2. Remove the system cover.
3. Locate the connectors SATA_A and SATA _B on the system board.
4. Connect the SATA_A and SATA _B connectors on the AHCI devices to the corresponding cable connectors on the
backplane using the SATA cables.
NOTE:
The first AHCI device provides connectivity to the drives available on port 07 and the second AHCI device
provides connectivity to the drives available on port 8. For information about disk connectivity for AHCI devices, see

5. Install the system cover.
6. Turn on the system.
