Destination unreachable
—The gateway for this destination indicates that the destination
is unreachable. In such cases, the "Host unreachable" message appears.
Network or host unreachable
—The switch found no corresponding entry in the route
table. In such cases the "Network or Host unreachable" message appears.
Examples
The following example displays a ping to IP address 10.1.1.1.
console>ping 10.1.1.1
Pinging 10.1.1.1 with 64 bytes of data:
64 bytes from 10.1.1.1: icmp_seq=0. time=11 ms
64 bytes from 10.1.1.1: icmp_seq=1. time=8 ms
