Command History
Version Description
9.4(0.0) Supported on the FN I/O Aggregator.
9.2(0.0) Introduced on the M I/O Aggregator.
8.3.16.1 Introduced on the MXL 10/40GbE Switch IO Module.
Usage Information
Port Channel interfaces are logical interfaces and can be either in Layer 2 mode (by using the switchport
command) or Layer 3 mode (by conguring an IP address). You can add a Port Channel in Layer 2 mode to a
VLAN.
A Port Channel can contain both 100/1000 interfaces and GE interfaces. Based on the rst interface
congured in the Port Channel and enabled, the Dell Networking OS determines if the Port Channel uses
100 Mb/s or 1000 Mb/s as the common speed. For more information, refer to channel-member.
If the line card is in a Jumbo mode chassis, you can also congure the mtu and ip mtu commands. The
Link MTU and IP MTU values congured on the channel members must be greater than the Link MTU and
IP MTU values congured on the Port Channel interface.
