Usage
Information
The monitoring command is saved in the running configuration at the Monitor Session mode level and
can be restored after a chassis reload.
Example
Dell# show running-config monitor session

monitor session creates a session for monitoring.
show monitor session displays a monitor session.
source (port monitoring)
Configure a port monitor source.
Syntax
source interface destination interface direction {rx | tx | both}
To disable a monitor source, use the no source interface destination interface
direction {rx | tx | both} command.
Parameters
interface
Enter the one of the following keywords and slot/port information:
For a 10-Gigabit Ethernet interface, enter the keyword
TenGigabitEthernet then the slot/port information.
destination Enter the keyword destination to indicate the interface destination.
direction {rx | tx
| both}
Enter the keyword direction followed by one of the packet directional
indicators.
rx: to monitor receiving packets only.
tx: to monitor transmitting packets only.
both: to monitor both transmitting and receiving packets.
Defaults none

Usage
Information
The monitored (source) interface must be a server-facing interface in the format slot/port, where valid
slot numbers are 0-1 and server-facing port numbers are from 1 to 32.
