Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP)
This chapter contains commands for Dell Networks’s implementation of the link aggregation control
protocol (LACP) for creating dynamic link aggregation groups (LAGs) — known as port-channels in the
Dell Networking Operating System (OS).
NOTE: For static LAG commands, refer to the Interfaces chapter), based on the standards specified
in the IEEE 802.3 Carrier sense multiple access with collision detection (CSMA/CD) access method
and physical layer specifications.
lacp long-timeout
Configure a long timeout period (30 seconds) for an LACP session.
Syntax
lacp long-timeout
To reset the timeout period to a short timeout (1 second), use the no lacp long-
timeout command.
Defaults 1 second

History
Version 9.2(0.0) Introduced on the M I/O Aggregator. This command is
supported in Programmable-Mux (PMUX) mode only.
Version 8.3.16.1 Introduced on the MXL 10/40GbE Switch IO Module.
Usage
Information
This command applies to dynamic port-channel interfaces only. When applied on a
static port-channel, this command has no effect.
lacp port-priority
To influence which ports will be put in Standby mode when there is a hardware limitation that prevents all
compatible ports from aggregating, configure the port priority.
Syntax
lacp port-priority priority-value
To return to the default setting, use the no lacp port-priority priority-
value command.
Parameters
priority-value Enter the port-priority value. The higher the value number,
the lower the priority. The range is from 1 to 65535. The
default is 32768.
Defaults 32768
