Test connectivity between the system and another device by sending echo requests and waiting for
replies.

Parameter
console 0 Enter the keyword console 0 to configure the console port.
The console option is <0-0>.
vty number Enter the keyword vty followed by a number from 0 to 9 to configure a virtual terminal
line for Telnet sessions.
The system supports 10 Telnet sessions.
end-number
(OPTIONAL) Enter a number from 1 to 9 as the last virtual terminal line to configure.
You can configure multiple lines at one time.

(OPTIONAL) Enter the host name of the devices to which you are testing
connectivity.
ip-address
(OPTIONAL) Enter the IPv4 address of the device to which you are testing
connectivity. The address must be in the dotted decimal format.

Enter the number of echo packets to be sent.
number: 1- 2147483647
Continuous: transmit echo request continuously
Default: 5
datagram size
Enter the ICMP datagram size.
Range: 36 - 15360 bytes
Default: 100
timeout
Enter the interval to wait for an echo reply before timing out.
Range: 0 -3600 seconds
Default: 2 seconds
