System Time
The commands in this chapter configure time values on the system, either using the Dell Networking OS,
the hardware, or using the network time protocol (NTP). With NTP, the switch can act only as a client to
an NTP clock host.
For more information, refer to the Network Time Protocol section of the Management chapter in the
Dell PowerEdge M I/O Aggregator Configuration Guide.
The NTP commands are:
• calendar set
• ntp server
• show calendar
• show clock
• clock read-calendar
• clock set
• clock summer-time date
• clock summer-time recurring
• clock timezone
• clock update-calendar

calendar set
Set the time and date for the switch hardware clock.
Syntax
calendar set time month day year
Parameters
time Enter the time in hours:minutes:seconds. For the hour
variable, use the 24-hour format; for example, 17:15:00 is
5:15 pm.
month Enter the name of one of the 12 months in English. You can
enter the name of a day to change the order of the display to
time day month year.
day Enter the number of the day. The range is from 1 to 31. You
can enter the name of a month to change the order of the
display to time day month year.
