Deployment Guide

Usage Information You can congure up to a maximum of four lossless (PFC) queues. By conguring four lossless queues, you can
congure four dierent priorities and assign a particular priority to each application that your network is used to
process. For example, you can assign a higher priority for time-sensitive applications and a lower priority for other
services, such as le transfers. You can congure the amount of buer space for each priority and the pause or
resume thresholds for the buer. This method of conguration enables you to manage and administer the behavior
of lossless queues.

Conguration Mode
Dell(conf)# dcb-policy buffer-threshold stack-unit all stack-ports all test

service-class buer shared-threshold-weight
Create a service class and associate the threshold weight of the shared buer with each of the queues per port in the egress direction.
Syntax
[no] Service-class buffer shared-threshold-weight {[queue0 number] || [queue1
number] || [queue2 number] || [queue3 number] || [queue4 number] || [queue5
number] || [queue6 number] || [queue7 number]}
Parameters
buer Dene the shared buer settings
shared-threshold-
weight
Specify the weight of a queue for the shared buer space
queue 0 to queue 7 To apply the shared-threshold weight, specify the queue number
number Enter a weight for the queue on the shared buer as a number in the range of 1 to 11.
Default The default threshold weight on the shared buer for each queue is 9. Therefore, each queue can consume up to
66.67 percent of available shared buer by default.

Version Description
9.9(0.0) Introduced on the M I/O Aggregator and the FN I/O Aggregator.
Usage Information You can congure all the data queues. You can congure queues 0-7.
The following table describes the mapping between the threshold weight of the shared buer on the queue. It also
shows the percentage of the available shared buer used by the queues for each of the corresponding threshold
weights of the shared buer:
