User Guidelines
• This command applies to all Spanning Tree instances on the device.
• The cost is set using the
spanning-tree cost command.
Example
The following example sets the default path cost method to long.
spanning-tree bpdu
The spanning-tree bpdu Global Configuration mode command defines BPDU handling when the
Spanning Tree is disabled globally or on a single interface. Use the no form of this command to
return to the default configuration.
Syntax
• spanning-tree bpdu { filtering | flooding }
• no spanning-tree bpdu
• filtering — Filter BPDU packets when the Spanning Tree is disabled on an interface.
•
flooding — Flood BPDU packets when the Spanning Tree is disabled on an interface.
Default Configuration
The default setting is flooding.

Global Configuration mode.

There are no user guidelines for this command.
Example
The following example defines BPDU packet flooding when the spanning-tree is disabled on an
interface
