bridge multicast address
The bridge multicast address Interface Configuration (VLAN) mode command registers a MAC-
layer Multicast address in the bridge table and statically adds ports to the group. Use the no form of
this command to unregister the MAC address.

— Adds ports to the group. If no option is specified, this is the default option.

remove
— Removes ports from the group.

mac-multicast-address
— A valid MAC Multicast address.

ip- multicast-address
— A valid IP Multicast address.

interface-list
— Separate non-consecutive Ethernet ports with a comma and no spaces; a
hyphen is used to designate a range of ports.

port-channel-number-list
— Separate non-consecutive port-channels with a comma and no
spaces; a hyphen is used to designate a range of ports.
Default Configuration
No Multicast addresses are defined.
Command Mode
Interface configuration (VLAN) mode.
User Guidelines
• If the command is executed without
add
or
remove
, the command only registers the group in the
bridge database.
• Static Multicast addresses can only be defined on static VLANs.
Examples
The following example registers the MAC address:
