The password Line Configuration mode command specifies a password on a line. To remove the
password, use the no form of this command.
Syntax
password password [ encrypted ]
no password
• password — Password for this level (Range: 1-159 characters).
•
encrypted — Encrypted password to be entered, copied from another device
configuration.
Default Configuration
No password is defined.

User Guidelines
If a password is defined as encrypted, the required password length is 32 characters.

The following example specifies password secret on a console.
