port storm-control broadcast rate
The port storm-control broadcast rate Interface Configuration (Ethernet) mode command
configures the maximum broadcast rate. To return to the default configuration, use the no form
of this command.
Syntax
port storm-control broadcast rate

rate
— Maximum kilobits per second of broadcast, multicast, and unknown unicast
traffic on a port. (Range: 70-250,000 Kbits/Sec, where the following granularity is applied:
• 70K - 1M in steps of at least 10K
• 1M-10M in steps of at least 1M
• 10M-250M in steps based on the requested rate)
Default Configuration
The default storm control broadcast rate is 100 Kbits/Sec.

User Guidelines
• Use the
port storm-control broadcast enable
Interface Configuration mode command to
enable broadcast storm control.
• Since granularity depends on the requested rate, the software displays the actual rate.
Example
The following example configures the maximum storm control broadcast rate at 900 Kbits/Sec
on Ethernet port 1/e5.
show ports storm-control
The show ports storm-control Privileged EXEC mode command displays the storm
control configuration.
Console(config)# interface ethernet 1/e5
Console(config-if)# port storm-control broadcast rate 900
