Applying a Privilege Level to a Username
To set the user privilege level, use the following command.
● Configure a privilege level for a user.
CONFIGURATION mode
username username privilege level
Applying a Privilege Level to a Terminal Line
To set a privilege level for a terminal line, use the following command.
● Configure a privilege level for a user.
CONFIGURATION mode
username username privilege level
NOTE:
When you assign a privilege level between 2 and 15, access to the system begins at EXEC mode, but the prompt is
hostname#, rather than hostname>.
Configuring Logging
The Dell EMC Networking OS tracks changes in the system using event and error messages.
By default, Dell EMC Networking OS logs these messages on:
● the internal buffer
● console and terminal lines
● any configured syslog servers
To disable logging, use the following commands.
● Disable all logging except on the console.
CONFIGURATION mode
no logging on
● Disable logging to the logging buffer.
CONFIGURATION mode
no logging buffer
● Disable logging to terminal lines.
CONFIGURATION mode
no logging monitor
● Disable console logging.
