Parameters
keepalive
Enter a number for the time interval, in seconds, between keepalive messages sent
to the neighbor routers. The range is from 1 to 65535. The default is 60 seconds.
holdtime
Enter a number for the time interval, in seconds, between the last keepalive
message and declaring the router dead. The range is from 3 to 65535. The default
is 180 seconds.

timers bgp extended
Adjust the BGP idle holdtime for all the BGP neighbors.
Syntax
timers bgp extended idle-holdtime
To return to the default, use the no timers bgp extended command.

idle-
holdtime
Enter a number for the time interval, in seconds, for the peer to be idle state. The
range is from 1 to 32767. The default is 15 seconds.
Defaults
The default idle-holdtime is 15 seconds.

Usage
Information
The peer remains in idle state based on the configured idle-holdtime. The less the idle-holdtime,
lesser the peer in idle state.
For the new idle-holdtime to take effect, you need to shutdown all the peers manually using neighbor
shutdown command and enable the peers again.
