Setting or viewing network interface configuration like Internet Protocol (IP) address, network mask, gateway, and Dynamic
Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP).
Secure mode limits the ability to view or modify configuration, or upgrade software to the switches external USB console port
and internal management network only. CMC continues to have access to other properties like power status and system health.
To disable the secure mode, use no enable secure command. For the changes to take effect, save the configuration and
reboot the system. Once the system exits secure mode, all the restrictions are gone. CMC is able to learn the status when it
readsswitch.xml and lifts the restrictions for the switch.
NOTE: When you add a switch in an existing stack which is in secure mode, reboot the new switch twice for it to enter into
the secure mode.
Enabling Secured CLI Mode
The secured CLI mode prevents the users from enhancing the permissions or promoting the privilege levels.
Enter the following command to enable the secured CLI mode:
CONFIGURATION Mode
secure-cli enable
After entering the command, save the running-configuration. Once you save the running-configuration, the secured CLI mode is
enabled.
If you do not want to enter the secured mode, do not save the running-configuration. Once saved, to disable the secured CLI
mode, you need to manually edit the startup-configuration file and reboot the system.
File Transfer Services
With the Dell Networking OS, you can configure the system to transfer files over the network using the file transfer protocol
(FTP).
One FTP application is copying the system image files over an interface on to the system; however, FTP is not supported on
virtual local area network (VLAN) interfaces.
For more information about FTP, refer to RFC 959, File Transfer Protocol.
