Usage
Information
Broadcast storm control is valid on Layer 2/Layer 3 interfaces only. Layer 2 broadcast traffic is treated as
unknown-unicast traffic.
storm-control broadcast (Interface)
Configure the percentage of broadcast traffic allowed on an interface.
Syntax
storm-control broadcast [packets_per_second in]
To disable broadcast storm control on the interface, use the no storm-control broadcast
[packets_per_second in] command.
Parameters
packets_per_sec

Enter the packets per second of broadcast traffic allowed into the network. The
range is from 0 to 33554368.
Defaults none

storm-control multicast (Configuration)
Configure the packets per second (pps) of multicast traffic.
Syntax
storm-control multicast packets_per_second in
To disable storm-control for multicast traffic into the network, use the no storm-control
multicast packets_per_second in command.
Parameters

Enter the packets per second of multicast traffic allowed into the network. The
range is from 0 to 33554368.

Usage
Information
Broadcast traffic (all 0xFs) should be counted against the broadcast storm control meter, not against
the multicast storm control meter. It is possible, however, that some multicast control traffic may get
dropped when storm control thresholds are exceeded.
