In the command output, System Service Tag displays the service tag of the switch on which you enter the command.
License Service Tag displays the service tag read from the license file. Current State displays the current number of licensed
(usable) ports on the switch; Next Boot displays the number of licensed ports on the switch after the next reload.

In the command output, the status of the line cards indicates the current port configuration. As shown in the following
example, if line cards 0 and 1 are online, 84 40G ports (336 10G ports) are enabled. Note that the status of line card 2 is
card problem, which means that these ports are not enabled and the line card is powered down.

2. Locate the license file you want to use and verify that the licensed port configuration is valid for the switch.
show license [flash://filepath | ftp://userid:password@host-ip/filepath | scp://
userid:password@hostip/filepath | tftp://host-ip/filepath | usbflash://filepath]
EXEC Privilege mode
In the command output, the information displayed in the License Type and Status fields indicates the number of licensed
ports and whether the license is valid for the switch. As shown in the following example, Valid License File means that the
licensed port configuration is supported on the switch.

NOTE:
If the system service and license service tags do not match, the license cannot be installed. To generate the
correct license service tag for the desired port license, contact your local Dell Networking support team or the Dell
Networking Technical Assistance Center.
In the command output, the information displayed in the Feature and Status fields indicates whether the license is valid for
the switch. As shown in the following example, HW-Port-License displays the number of ports to be licensed; Valid
License File means that the licensed port configuration is supported on the switch.
