Hot-Lock Behavior
Dell Networking OS hot-lock features allow you to append and delete their corresponding content addressable memory (CAM)
entries dynamically without disrupting traffic. Existing entries are simply shuffled to accommodate new entries.
Hot-Lock IP ACLs allow you to append rules to and delete rules from an access control list (ACL) that is already written to CAM.
This behavior is enabled by default and is available for both standard and extended ACLs on ingress and egress. For information
about configuring ACLs, refer to Access Control Lists (ACLs).
Component Redundancy
Dell EMC Networking systems eliminate single points of failure by providing dedicated or load-balanced redundancy for each
component.
Automatic and Manual Stack Unit Failover
Stack unit failover is the process of the standby unit becoming a management unit.
Dell EMC Networking OS fails over to the standby stack unit when:
1. Communication is lost between the standby and primary stack unit.
2. You request a failover via the CLI.
To display the reason for the last failover, use the show redundancy command from EXEC Privilege mode.
Example of the show redundancy Command
