Re-Allocating CAM for Ingress ACLs and QoS
The default CAM allocation settings for ingress ACL and QoS regions are shown in the following list.
L2 ACL(l2acl): 4
L3 ACL (ipv4acl): 4
IPv6 L3 ACL (ipv6acl): 0
L3 QoS (ipv4qos): 2
L2 QoS (l2qos): 1
L2PT (l2pt): 0
MAC ACLs (ipmacacl): 0
ECFMACL (ecfmacl): 0
VMAN QoS (vman-qos): 0
VMAN Dual QoS (vman-dual-qos): 0
FCoE ACL (fcoeacl): 2
iSCSI Opt ACL (iscsioptacl): 0
Enter the ipv6acl and vman-dual-qos allocations as a factor of 2 (2, 4, 6, 8, 10). All other CAM regions can use either even
or odd numbered numbers.
NOTE:
On the S5000, there can be only one odd number of Blocks in the CLI configuration; the other Blocks must be in
factors of 2. For example, a CLI configuration of 5+4+2+1+1 Blocks is not supported; a configuration of 6+4+2+1 Blocks is
supported.
You must save the new CAM settings to the startup-config (write-mem or copy run start) then reload the system for
the new settings to take effect.
To reconfigure the memory regions on the S5000 used for ingress ACLs and QoS, follow these steps.
1. Enter a CAM allocation action to perform on ingress ACLs.
CONFIGURATION mode
cam-acl [default | l2acl]
NOTE:
Selecting default resets the CAM entries to the default settings. To re-allocate memory space for ingress ACL
and QoS regions, select l2acl.
2. Enter the number of FP blocks for each region. Separate each keyword and number with a blank space. The total CAM space
allocated must equal 13.
EXEC Privilege mode
l2acl number ipv4acl number ipv6acl number ipv4qos number l2qos number l2pt number
ipmacacl number ecfmacl number {vman-qos number | vman-dual-qos number} [fcoeacl number]
[iscsioptacl number]
3. Verify the new settings that will be written to the CAM on the next reload.
