Configuring 10G speed on 25G ports
Dell EMC Networking OS provides 10G speed support in the native 25-Gigabit Ethernet server ports when connected using
SFP28 direct attach cables (DACs).
You can set the speed on a SFP28 DAC inserted port to 10000 using speed command, which enables advertising 10G speed on
SFP28 DAC. This feature enables you to connect 25G DAC from S5048F-ON to any other device that operates at 10G speed.
To change the speed of native 25G Ethernet ports to 10G, use the following command.
Set the local port speed.
INTERFACE mode
speed 10000
If you change the speed of a port to 10G, the speed change is applied on all the four ports in the port group.
NOTE:
When the speed of a port in a port group is set to 10G, all the other ports in the port group, which currently
operates at 25G speed goes down.
Following is the sample configuration steps for setting the speed to 10G:
DellEMC(conf)# interface twentyfiveGigE 1/25
DellEMC(conf-if-tf-1/25)# speed 10000
