10 Software and Hardware Requirements
Table 2-3 lists the minimum hardware requirements for the Oracle Database
11g R2 Standard Edition on Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1
Standard x64 Edition. For more information on specific hardware
components, see the documentation included with your system.
Table 2-3. Minimum Hardware Requirements

• Intel Xeon processor series.
•3 GB of RAM.
• PowerEdge Expandable RAID Controller
(PERC) for internal hard drives.
• Two 73 GB hard drives connected to a
PERC controller.
NOTE: It is recommended to use two
73 GB hard drives (RAID 1) connected to an
internal RAID controller based on
your system. For more information, see your
PowerEdge system documentation.
• Three Gigabit Network Interface Cards
(NICs) (one for Public and two for
Private).
• Two 1 Gigabit or 10 GigaBit Ethernet
NICs (iSCSI).
