Configuring Your Network
This section provides information about configuring the public and private
cluster network.
NOTE: Each node requires a unique public and private internet protocol (IP)
address and an additional public IP address to serve as the virtual IP address for
the client connections and connection failover. The virtual IP address must belong
to the same subnet as the public IP address. All public IP addresses, including the
virtual IP address, should be registered with the domain naming service (DNS). If a
DNS server is not available, IP addresses have to be registered in the hosts file on
all cluster nodes.
Depending on the number of NIC ports available, configure the interfaces as
shown in Table 2-1.
Disabling IPv6 for the Network Adapters
IPv6 is not certified with Grid Infrastructure and should be disabled before
installing the Grid Infrastructure.
To disable IPv6 on all the nodes:

The Microsoft Failover cluster adapter and all tunnel adapters (Microsoft
ISATAP, 6to4, Teredo) should be disabled.
