Configuring Database Storage on
the Host

Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) requires an ordered list of
procedures. The following sections describe how to verify, adjust, and
configure the storage disks for the direct-attached SAS, or iSCSI storage on
your host.
Verifying and Identifying Your Storage Disks
While configuring the clusters, create partitions on your direct-attached SAS,
or iSCSI storage system. To create the partitions, all the nodes must detect
the external storage devices.
NOTE: The procedure in this section describes how to deploy the Oracle database
for direct-attached SAS storage if direct-attached SAS or iSCSI storage (Dell
PowerVault MD32

i, or Dell|EqualLogic storage array) is used.
Verifying the Storage Assignment to the Nodes

Device Manager

Storage
and click
Disk Management

Right-click the volume and click
Online
.

Right-click the volume, select
Initialize
, and click
OK
on the
Initialize Disk
window.

Repeat step a to step b for all the volumes.
NOTE: This procedure ensures that your disks are configured as basic disks.
