8 Installing Oracle 11g R2 Database RAC
Installing Oracle 11g R2 Grid Infrastructure for a
Cluster
To install Oracle 11g R2 grid infrastructure for a cluster:
1 Log in as <DNS Domain>Administrator.
2 Run the cluster verify script in the Oracle Grid Infrastructure
media using the following command:
<CD_mountpoint>\runcluvfy.bat stage -pre crsinst -
n node1,node2 -r 11gR2 -verbose
Where node1 and node2 are the public host names. If your system is
configured correctly, the following message is displayed:
Pre-check for cluster services setup was
successful on all the nodes.
NOTE: If your system is not configured correctly and error messages are
displayed, resolve the issues, and then repeat the
runcluvfy.bat

3 Type the following command to start the Oracle Universal Installer:
<CD_mountpoint>\Setup.exe
NOTE: Download the patch 10637621 from support.oracle.com to your local
drive.

In the
Download Software Updates
window, select
Use pre-downloaded
software updates
and
click
Browse
.

Select the location where the downloaded patch is located, and click
Next
.
NOTE: Before proceeding with step 6 make sure that the downloaded patch
is listed.

In the
Apply Software Updates
window, select
Apply all updates
.
7
Click
Next
.
8 In the Select Installation Option window, select Install and Configure
Grid Infrastructure for a Cluster.

Click
Next
.
