Creating ASM Disk Group
This section contains procedures to create the ASM disk group for the
database files and Flash Recovery Area (FRA).
To create the ASM disk groups:

Start the
asmca
utility:
<GRID HOME>\bin\asmca

In the
ASM configuration Assistant
window, select the
Disk Groups
tab.

Click
Create
.

Enter the
Disk Group Name
as
databaseDG
.

Configure the redundancy level to
External redundancy
.

Click
Stamp Disks
.
The
asmtool Operation Wizard
is displayed.

Select
Add or Change Label
and click
Next
.

In the
Select Disks
window, select the desired candidate device for asm
stamping and assign the name
DATA
.

Click
Next
.

Click
Next
in the
Stamp Disks
window.

Click
Finish
in the
Message ASM
window.

Select the member disks.

Select
\\ORCLDISKDATA0
to store the database files.

Click
OK
to create and mount the disks.

Repeat step 3 to step 14 to create another disk group called
flashbackDG
for FRA.

Click
Exit
to exit the
ASM configuration assistant
