Configuring and Deploying Oracle Database 11g
(Single Node)
This section provides information about installing the Oracle 11g R1 software
on a single node. This section covers the following topics:
• Installing Oracle Clusterware Version 11.1.0.6
• Installing Oracle 11g Database Version 11.1.0.6
• Applying Oracle 11.1.0.7 patchset
• Configuring the Listener
• Creating the Seed Database
Installing Oracle Clusterware Version 11.1.0.6

On node 1, insert the
Oracle 11g R1 Clusterware for Microsoft Windows
CD
into the CD drive.
The Oracle User Interface (OUI) starts and the
Welcome
screen appears.
If the
Welcome
screen does not appear:
a
Click
Start
and select
Run
.
b
In the
Run
field, type the following, and click
OK
:
%CD drive%
\autorun\autorun.exe
where
%CD drive%
is the drive letter of your CD drive.

In the
Oracle Clusterware
window, click
Install/Deinstall Products
.

In the
Welcome
screen, click
Next
.

In the
Specify Home Details
window, accept the default settings
(
%System drive%
\product\11.1.0\crs) and click
Next
.
NOTE: Record the OraCR11g_home (CRS Home) path because you will need
this information later.

In the
Product-Specific Prerequisite Checks
window, click
Next
.

In the
Specify Cluster Configuration
window, perform the following steps:
a
Verify the public, private, and virtual host names for the primary node.
b
If you want to change these values, click
Edit
and enter the desired
values, and click
OK
.
