34 Installing Oracle 11g R1 Database (Single Node)
Installing 11.1.0.7 Patch Set for Oracle Database
Complete the following procedures before creating a listener and a seed
database.
Installing the Patch Set
1 Open a new terminal window.
2 Log in as oracle .
3 Type the following and press <Enter>:
export ORACLE_HOME=
/opt/oracle/product/11.1.0/db_1

Start the Oracle Universal Installer by typing the following in the terminal
window, and press
<Enter> :
cd /opt/oracle/patches/Disk1/
./runInstaller

The Welcome screen is displayed. Click Next .
6 In the Specify Home Details screen, click Next .
7 In the Email Address screen, enter the appropriate information to be
informed of security issues and installed products, and click
Next .
Otherwise, skip this section by clicking
Next .
8 In the Product Specific Prerequisite Checks screen, ensure your checks
succeed and click
Next .
9 In the Summary screen, click Install .
The Oracle Universal Installer scans your system, displays all the patches
that are required to be installed, and installs them on your system.
When the installation completes, the
End of Installation screen is
displayed. A message window is displayed, prompting you to run
root.sh as user root .
10 Open a terminal window.
11 Type the following and press <Enter> :
/opt/oracle/product/11.1.0/db_1/root.sh

When the root.sh installation is complete, go back to the Oracle Universal
Installer
window and click OK .
The
End of Installation screen is displayed.
