Installing Oracle 11g R1 Database RAC 19
Configuring the Listener
This section describes the steps to configure the listener, which is required for
remote client connection to a database.
On
one node only
, perform the following steps:

Log in as
root
.

Start the X Window System by typing:
startx

Open a terminal window and type:
xhost +

As the user
oracle
, type
netca
to start the Net Configuration
Assistant.

Select
Cluster Configuration
and click
Next
.

In the
TOPSNodes
window, click
Select All Nodes
and click
Next
.

In the
Welcome
window, select
Listener Configuration
and click
Next
.

In the
Listener Configuration
Listener
window, select
Add
and
click
Next
.

In the
Listener Configuration
Listener Name
window, type
LISTENER
in the
Listener Name
field and click
Next
.

Listener Configuration
Select Protocols
window, select
TCP
and click
Next
.

TCP/IP Protocol
window, select
Use the
standard port number of 1521
and click
Next
.

No
