Before You Begin
The following sections describe activities that you must complete before
installing the Oracle 10g Real Application Clusters (RAC).
Download the Enterprise Linux and
Dell Automation Scripts
Before you install the Oracle RAC software on your system:
• Download the Red Hat Enterprise Linux media images from the
Red Hat Network website at
rhn.redhat.com . The O racle Enterprise
Linux
media images can be downloaded from the
Enterprise Linux|Linux|Oracle website at
oracle.com/linux .
• Locate your
Oracle media kit.
• Download the Dell automation scripts that are appropriate for the solution
being installed from the Dell|Oracle Tested and Validated Configurations
website at
dell.com/oracle .
Configure the System Clock Settings for
All Nodes
To prevent failures during the installation of the Oracle Database 10g software,
configure all the nodes with identical system clock settings. Synchronize your
node system clock with a Network Time Protocol (NTP) server. If you cannot
access an NTP server, perform one of the following procedures:
• Ensure that you set the system clock on the Oracle Database software
installation node to a later time than the remaining nodes.
• Configure one of your nodes as an NTP server to synchronize the
remaining nodes in the cluster.
