Removing a Node From the Clusterware Layer

Disable CRS on the node that you are deleting by typing the following as the user
root
:
/opt/oracle/product/10.1.0/crs_1/install/rootdelete.sh remote
nosharedvar

On one of the remaining nodes, as the user
root
, type the following:
/opt/oracle/product/10.1.0/crs_1/install/rootdeletenode.sh
<public nodename>, <node-number>
To determine the node number of any node, type the following:
/opt/oracle/product/10.1.0/crs_1/bin/olsnodes -n

On the node that you are deleting, if you wish to remove the Oracle CRS software, type the following:
rm -rf /opt/oracle/product/10.1.0/crs_1/*

Perform the following steps on the node to be deleted:
a
Log in as
root
.
b
Unmount the mounted OCFS2 volumes by typing:
umount –a –t ocfs2
c
Stop the O2CB service by typing:
/etc/init.d/o2cb stop
d
Disable the O2CB service by typing:
/etc/init.d/o2cb disable

Remove the OCFS2 entry from the
/etc/fstab
file.
f
Remove the OCFS2 configuration file by typing:
rm –f /etc/ocfs2/cluster.conf

Stop the database instances on all the nodes by typing the following command on any
one
of the existing nodes
as the user
oracle
:
srvctl stop database –d <database name>

Stop the CRS service and unmount the OCFS2 volumes by typing the following commands
on
all the nodes
:
/etc/init.d/init.crs stop
umount –a –t ocfs2
