Determining the Private Network Interface
To determine which interface device name is assigned to each network interface, perform the following
steps:
1 Determine which types of NICs are in your system.
Refer to table Table 1-7 to identify which integrated NICs are present in your system.
For add-in NICs, you may have Intel PRO/100 family or PRO/1000 family cards or Broadcom
NetXtreme Gigabit cards. You may have to open your system and view the add-in cards to determine
which you have.
