Description There is an unrecoverable medium error detected on virtual disk.
Severity Critical / Failure / Error
Cause and Action Cause: Unrecoverable medium error found on one or more member physical disks of a virtual disk.
Action: Perform a backup of the virtual disk with the Verify option selected. If the Backup operation is
successful, it indicates that the un-recoverable medium did not aect user data.
If the Backup operation fails, restore the le from a previous backup. After restoring the le, run check
consistency operation:
If the consistency check is successful, no further action is required.
If the consistency check nds and unrecoverable medium error, it means that the medium error is
located in non-user data. No further action is required as, writing data to the location of the medium
error xes the problem.
NOTE: If the unrecoverable medium error has not been corrected, it may be reported again by the
system. This error can be xed by writing data on the aected area or deleting and recreating the
Virtual Disk as demonstrated in the following procedure.
1. Back up the data.
2. Delete the Virtual Disk.
3. Recreate the Virtual Disk using the same parameters like size, RAID level, disks, etc.
4. Restore data.
