Introduction
The Dell Systems Management Software Support Matrix helps identify Dell OpenManage software and
other Dell components supported on Dell PowerEdge/PowerVault systems, browsers, and operating
systems.
This guide is intended for system administrators and technicians. The guide provides information about
the available Dell systems, the operating systems supported by these systems, and the Dell OpenManage
components that can be installed on these systems.
What is new in this release
The release highlights are:
• New operating systems:
– Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
– VMware vSphere ESXi 5.5 U2
NOTE: ESXi 5.5 U2 is supported only on Dell PowerEdge R920 version 1.1.
• Deprecated operating systems:
– ESXi 5.0
– ESXi 5.1 U1
– ESXi 5.5
– Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.9
• Support for PowerEdge R920 version 1.1, PowerEdge RAID Controller (PERC) H330 and PERC H830.
• Support for storage enclosure MD1400, MD1420.
• iDRAC7 1.65.65.
• The Systems Management Tools and Documentation (SMTD) Media would provide guidance on the
OpenManage products/tools.
• We recommend using Dell OpenManage Essentials as a replacement for Dell IT Assistant (ITA). Dell
OpenManage Essentials provides improved capabilities such as:
– Discovering and inventoring the systems.
– Monitoring systems’ health.
– Viewing and managing system alerts.
– Performing system updates.
