software updates. Version 4.3 is available on the Dell Support
website at support.dell.com.
• In the absence of a supported database on your system, a fresh
installation of IT Assistant 8.x and later prompts you to install
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition. SQL Server 2005
Express Edition can be installed before installing the
management station software. However, IT Assistant works
with Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine (MSDE
2000) or SQL Server 2000, if it is already installed on your
system. If you are upgrading from IT Assistant 7.x to 8.x and
later, you can use the existing MSDE 2000 or SQL Server
2000. For more information, see the

Installing Management Station Software on Microsoft Windows
Operating Systems
To install applications onto the management station, perform the
following steps:
1 Log on with administrator privileges to the system where you
want to install the management station applications.
