Release Notes
• JIT-120251: The foreign physical disks connected to the system, on reaching the maximum number of supported virtual disk by the
controller is displayed on the Import Preview page as Orphan Drive.
• JIT-117872: On performing the unblink operation on physical disk connected to 12Gbps SAS HBA, observing both health and activity
LEDs light turn off.
• JIT-121226: Storage Management is enumerating connector health status as HHHL AIC status in SWRaid NVMe configuration.
Correct health status of HHHL card is seen on HHHL enumeration page.
• JIT-121358: The Cryptographic erase capable for SATA SED drives is displayed as no in the physical disk attribute. However the
physical disk task will have the ‘Cryptographic erase’ operation and there is no functionality impact.
• JIT-125130: On deleting the encrypted virtual disk created with SED disks on EKM enabled controller, the ‘Encrypted’ physical disk
property attribute of SED disks is shown as ‘Yes’ instead of ‘No’.
• JIT-125128: When an encrypted virtual disk, created on server with EKM enabled controller, is hot plugged in a server with non-EKM
or LKM enabled controller, the foreign configuration wizard shows blank page instead of listing all the foreign configurations.
• JIT-125116: When the controller is in EKM mode the controller properties attribute ‘Encryption Key Present’ displays the value as ‘No’
in both command line interface and graphical user interface instead of the attribute value ‘Yes’.
• JIT-125085: Encrypted virtual disk creation option is not available on virtual disk creation wizard on server with EKM enabled
controller even though supported SED disks are present. Virtual disk can be secured using tasks under virtual disk dropdown after the
virtual disk creation.
• JIT-126849: When MD14xx series enclosures are connected in cascaded format to RAID external controller, Blink and Unblink
operations performed from CLI fails on the second position enclosure. The same enclosure can be blinked from GUI.
• JIT-123278: Server Administrator does not display the hot-plug in or out alert for drives on the servers with HBA330 controllers. The
entries corresponding for the drives removed are displayed on the Physical Disk page. However, the newly inserted drives are
displayed in the Physical Disk page.
• JIT-127080: When the user tries to create a RAID50 or RAID60 virtual disk on a server that already has a RAID 50 or RAID 60 virtual
disk which has been created by using all the disks and with a disk span more number than the default value, the size suggestion for the
new virtual disk using Express wizard is different from the value displayed in advanced wizard.
• JIT-128978 : When there is failed virtual disk in the same controller the Import foreign configuration on controller’s task, does not list
the available degraded virtual disks to import, recover or clear. The list can be observed after failed virtual disk deletion.
• On UI if the submit button is clicked more than once an internal error may occur, but the task will be performed successfully.
• JIT-139783: On HBA controllers, the Enclosure ID displayed is different on Storage Management GUI and IDRAC GUI or HII systems.
• JIT-143403: The Enclosure status becomes Critical, when the physical disk of the Virtual drive is made offline. Once we start Rebuild
on the offline physical disk , the status of the Enclosure is not resetting to OK.
• JIT-142584: Operating system virtual drive on RAID 5 reconfigure, leads to the operation system hang on SWRAID.
• JIT-143142: On multiple virtual disk creations on SWRAID config, the virtual disk creation and background initialization alerts are not
getting logged in to alert log page for some of the virtual disks.
• JIT-141629: When the hot insertion drives attached to SWRAID controller, some delay to get the updated values is observed for the
RRWE and Available spare properties.
Installation Prerequisites
Storage Management does not display controllers and their features on systems that do not meet the driver and firmware requirements.
At Storage Management runtime, you can determine whether the system meets the firmware requirement or not, by checking the
application log files for notifications on outdated firmware. At runtime, On SCSI controllers, Storage Management displays the firmware
version at runtime while on SAS controllers it displays the firmware and driver versions.
Installation Procedure
For complete installation instructions, see the Dell EMC OpenManage Server Administrator version Installation Guide.
This section provides information to enhance your experience with Server Administrator implementations and environments.
• Port 1311 is the default port for Server Administrator. It is a registered port number of Server Administrator. If another application is
configured to run on port 1311 before Server Administrator is installed, the DSM SA Connection Service does not start after installation.
Before you install Server Administrator, make sure that the port 1311 is not in use.
• Before starting Server Administrator, you must enable the client-side scripting in Internet Explorer.
To do so, perform the following:
1. In Internet Explorer, navigate to the Tools menu.
2. Click Internet Options.
3. Click the Security tab.
4. Select the security zone to which the system running Server Administrator belongs.
