Property Denition
DUP Reboot Required If this eld is set to Yes, then the Update Package (DUP) eld is not blank. It
indicates the availability of an online DUP. The DUP allows to be sent to the
rmware payload through an online executable, but the rmware will not be
committed to the disk until the next system reboot. Hence, you can perform
one-to-many online deployments using applications or scripts that can launch
the online executable.
DUP It is a single executable that runs on a single family of drives. Unlike Nautilus,
to update dierent drives you have to use dierent DUP packages. A single
DUP package updates all drives applicable to that DUP package in an
execution. You can run the DUP online without a reboot. It is recommended
to stop or at least slow I/O operations during a DUP online rmware upgrade.
Part Number In the event of a drive failure, you can run the View Physical Disk Firmware
Version Report to nd out the part number of the failed drive and to check
if any of the drives require an update.
