Configuring The Active Directory Product Name
To configure the Active Directory product name:
1. Locate the omsaoem.ini file in the installation directory.
2. Edit the file to add the line adproductname=text, where text is the name of the product object
that you created in Active Directory. For example, the omsaoem.ini file contains the following syntax
if the Active Directory product name is configured to
omsaApp.
productname=Server Administrator
startmenu=Dell OpenManage Applications
autdbid=omsa
accessmask=3
adsupport=true
adproductname=omsaApp
3. Restart the Systems Management Server Administrator (DSM SA) Connection Service after saving
the omsaoem.ini file.
Extending The Active Directory Schema
The schema extensions for RAC and Server Administrator are available. Extend the schema for software
or hardware that you are using. Apply each extension individually to receive the benefit of its software-
specific settings. Extending the Active Directory schema adds schema classes and attributes, example
privileges and association objects, and a organizational unit to the schema.
NOTE: Before you extend the schema, you must have Schema Admin privileges on the Schema
Master Flexible Single Master Operation (FSMO) Role Owner of the domain forest.
Extend the schema using two different methods. Use the Schema Extender utility, or use the Lightweight
Directory Interchange Format (LDIF) script file.
NOTE: The organizational unit is not added if you use the LDIF script file.
The LDIF script files and the Schema Extender utility are located in the following directories on the
Systems Management Tools and Documentation DVD:
• <DVD drive>drive>:\SYSMGMT\ManagementStation\support\OMActiveDirect ory_Tools\<installation
type>\LDIF Files
• <DVD drive>:\SYSMGMT\ManagementStation\support\OMActiveDirect ory_ Tools\<installation type>
