1. Expand the Storage tree object to display the controller objects.

2. Select a controller object on which you want to enable the revertible hot spare task and select the Information/Configuration tab.

3. From the Controller Task drop down menu, select Change Controller Properties and click Execute.
Instant Secure Erase

Does my controller support this feature? See "Supported Features."
Use the Instant Secure Erase task to erase a secured physical disk. This task is available for:
l Unconfigured SED drive
l Foreign configured secured drives
l Unconfigured and foreign SED drive even when Security Key is not present in the controller

To locate this task in Storage Management:

1. Expand the Storage tree object to display the controller objects.

2. Expand a controller object.

3. Expand a Connector object.

4. Expand the enclosure or Backplane object.

5. Select the Physical Disks object.

6. Select Instant Secure Erase from the Available Tasks drop-down menu of the physical disk you want to clear.

7. Click Execute.

NOTE: The Rebuild rate for Revertible Hot Spare will be the same as defined for the controller.
CAUTION: Instant Secure Erase permanently erases all data present on the disk.
