Device Management
From the Devices screen you can view both network-discovered devices and devices added manually, and you can
access these devices within three categories:
• Grouped Devices tab (default view)—Devices that have been gathered into physical (Datacenter, Enclosure,
Room, Aisle, Rack, and individual device) and logical (custom) hierarchical groupings.
• Unassigned Devices tab—Devices that have not been assigned to any physical or custom groups.
• All Devices tab—A flat list of all devices (both grouped and unassigned) discovered by Dell OpenManage Power
Center.
The top half of the screen shows either the hierarchy (Grouped and Unassigned Devices tabs) or a flat (Unassigned
Devices tab) view, while the bottom portion of the screen displays detailed information about the device or group
selected in the top portion.
Grouped Devices
From the Grouped Devices tab you can:
• Run discovery jobs across the network using IP ranges
• Add and create device entities
• Move devices from one group to another
• Edit devices and device groups
• Delete single devices and device groups and multiple devices and device groups
• Enable and disable Emergency Power Reduction (EPR)
• Compare devices and devices groups
• View device and device group details
• Set and edit power and temperature alert thresholds
• View power and temperature history graphs
• View rack utilization graphs
• View and rediscover devices in chassis
Unassigned Devices
From the Unassigned Devices tab you can:
• Run discovery
• Move unassigned devices to a group
• Edit devices and device groups
• Delete single devices and device groups and multiple devices and device groups
• Enable and disable EPR
• View device and device group details
