1. Click Settings → General in the left navigation pane
2. In the Protocol Type Device Timeout section, click Edit.
3. Enter the intervals in seconds at which the connection between a device with the specified communication
protocol (
IPMI
,
SNMP
, and/or
WS-MAN
) and the Power Center server ends.
4. Click Save to apply your settings, or click Cancel to discard your settings and return to the previous screen.
The new settings take effect the next time Power Center attempts to communicate with the device.
Configuring Energy Consumption Cost Settings
Dell OpenManage Power Center uses two values to calculate energy consumption cost:
• Flat Rate – Cost of power used per kWh in the specified currency you set. (default is 0).
• Cooling Multiplier – Used to estimate the energy needed to cool the group/device (default is 1.5).
1. Click Settings → General in the left navigation pane.
2. In the Energy Consumption Cost section, click Edit.
The Edit Energy Consumption screen appears.
3. Enter a Flat Rate and Cooling Multiplier.
4. Click Save to apply your settings, or click Cancel to discard them and return to the previous screen.
Changes to the Cooling Multiplier immediately take effect; however, changes to the Flat Rate take effect at the beginning
of the next hour.
Setting SNMP Traps
Configure SNMP trap settings to send custom events to preferred third-party applications. You can add up to three
SNMP trap receivers for the following types of events:
• Average Power
• Average Inlet Temperature
• Max Power
• Policy Cannot Be Maintained
• Policy Return To Normal
• Power Return To Normal
• Temperature Return To Normal
1. Click Settings → General in the left navigation pane.
2. In the SNMP Traps section, click Edit.
3. Place a check mark in the box beside Enable SNMP Traps.
4. Enter the following information:
– The IP address or hostname (Destination IP/Host) of the destination device to which events will be sent.
The maximum length is 255 characters.
– The Port number of the destination device. You can enter any available port between 1 - 65535 (default is
162).
